I’ll just say it now: this is the best GTA ever made. No crappy yoga sequences, no crappy ragdoll system. Just some good old shootout with the cops simulator.
I don’t know why but the visuals don’t feel too bad even if they are dated. This game’s presentation just feels right.
I think we all fondly remember the intro music. That’s a groove to vibe on! Hell, that is the only soundtrack that comes to my mind when thinking of any GTA. I don’t know man the ones released after this just don’t have that same feel to it.
This game delivers so many memorable characters. Big Smoke, Ryder, our boy CJ, Sweet, Cesar, OG Loc, Tenpenny, That hippy guy that makes you steal the jetpack from area 51. On that note I remember, there is AREA 51 in the game!!!!!
The memes, yes. How can we forget the memes.

Oh yes, you can do mods in this, which you can do in pretty much any GTA but we are talking about this game so this is special. No particular reason. My favorite one is replacing the taxi with Bugatti Veyron. It breaks a mission and does not work if you show up on your girlfriend’s house to pick her up for a date but hey, it’s fun at least. you can go vroommmmmmmmmm vroommmmmmmmmmm in that bad boy.
Hmmm. I feel like I haven’t really talked about what the game is other than the shootout wit the cops simulator part. well here’s the thing. You start as CJ our boi in an open-world game where you get robbed by a police officer (Irony amirite) and there you go again. You ride a bike back home, attend CJ’s mom’s funeral where some gang war stuff happens, you join the gang back blah blah blah CJ’s sis gets a boyfriend, CJ gets betrayed, Sis’s boyfriend becomes a true homie blah blah blah you kill Ryder and big smoke and Tenpenny and the credits roll with the same dope intro theme song.
There you have it.
Yeah, you also go to Area 51 to steal the jetpack, which you probably already had by putting in the cheat. Forgot to mention this one but I already mentioned this one so that cancels it out or something. It happens somewhere in the middle of the story so watch out you don’t wanna miss this one as it’s pretty cool. Sometimes I wonder what the headline would have been the next day in-game…..

Do I even need to say this? It’s a masterpiece. Cannot recommend enough. It has got a playscore of 8.7, a bit low than I thought but still a solid rating nevertheless.
